About Me

Simon Dixon (London 1965)

2019

In the past 25 years I've studied various forms of massage and alternative therapies. From a very young age, (seven years old) I was already interested in the human body; how the bones and muscles were put together and how the body functioned. From my teenage years, I wanted to learn how I could touch people in a way that they could be relieved of their pain.

During my highschool years I started my career as an amateur boxer and in 1980 I won the school's amateur boxing association championship of England.  At the age of 18 I traded my boxing gloves in for the latex gloves of the operating room during my training as an operating department practitioner in St. Thomas's hospital in London. There I found fertile ground to further develop my interest in the human body and to be part of a medical team focussed on restoring function and health of the body.  After working in London for five years I moved to The Netherlands where I continue to the present time my work in the operating theater.

Besides my work in the hospital, I have had over many years, training in various forms of massage and alternative therapies. After my first massage diploma in 1993 (sports massage) I studied Trigger Point massage, Deep Tissue massage (Brandon Raynor technique), Body Sculpturing massage (Andrey Grebennikov), Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage (Malamalomi) The Raindrop Technique (Therapeutic Aromatherapy) and Key Point Therapy (Chinese Trigger point therapy)
These forms of massage have deepened my understanding of the physical, emotional and spiritual body, but none of them has so moved me and contributed to my spiritual evolution as Hawaiian bodywork in the form of Lomi Lomi.

In 2019 I qualified as an Acupuncturist at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Academy of The Netherlands (TCMA). Since then I continue to deepen my knowledge of different styles of acupuncture such as the Dr. Tan’s Balance Method acupuncture and Neoclassical Acupuncture taught by Dr. Slate Burris.

To create inner balance and alignment with my essence and gain a deeper connection to my heart, I practice a moving meditation called Ka’alele’au otherwise known Flying Dance meditation. This meditation is an integral part of being a practitioner of Lomi Lomi.
